The Reorganization Committee met at the Whitestown Town Hall, 6320 S. Cozy Lane.
We received a presentation from Gene Thompson of the Communities of Zionsville Area for Better Government Initiative explaining to us the discussions and processes followed by Eagle Township, Union Township, and Zionsville in their reorganization efforts. We also received information regarding the finances of Whitestown from Town Manager Tom Combiths and Town Clerk Debra Zachelmeyer.
We have formed six subcommittees (Government Organization and Finance, Utilities and Public Works, Public Safety, Planning and Zoning, Roads and Transportation, and Civic and Social Services). We had some good public discussion at this meeting and would like to have the same in our future meetings. The next meeting will be March 3, 2011 at the Whitestown Town Hall, 6320 S. Cozy Lane. We will be discussing issues pertaining to Planning and Zoning.
